Leave it to a true troll to make something like your birthday about them by giving you a card that is so attention grabbing, so ostentatious, that it simply can't be ignored. So much for being the center of attention on your special day. While most card companies have a conscience and wouldn't stoop so low as to actually make cards like these available for purchase, the widespread availability of card stock and home printers mean that no one is safe from the birthday troll.
The trolling birthday card is easy to spot. It's plain appearance is no accident, it wants to blend in and not give itself away just yet. The card in question may not call itself out on the very front, but rather motivate you to open it, where you are usually greeted with a good amount of money (a troll would do that) and a jabbing message.
Just because people use birthday cards to troll unsuspecting recipients doesn't mean they should receive a bad reputation. These cards do fulfill what every birthday card should, and more. They wish the recipient a happy birthday, and usually carry a substantial gift with them too, but they also let the birthday boy/girl know they are in no way as clever, or give as memorable cards as the individual they received it from.
On second thought, maybe they are bad, plus after you see some of these trolling birthday cards, you'll be thankful you haven't received anything like them yourself.
